A shrimpy, small-town schoolboy named Qai discovers he’s a superhero—which would be great, except that his only superpower is filling things, and coming out as a superhero makes him and his sidekick the least popular kids in school. Fighting against villains and everyday bullies, Qai and his sidekick embark on a world-saving journey about what it means to be themselves when everyone they know wants to erase who and what they are. (And if they save a few lives in the process? That’s cool, too.) Once Qai’s parents hear the rumors that he’s a superhero, though, they form their own plan to cure him of his powers. Qai’s superpower is filling things, yes. But he’d never wanted it to fill his life with this many complications.
